Terms of Use

1. Agreeing to These Terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using ReadOption, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

We version these Terms. When you first sign in — and again any time we materially change them — the app shows you the current version and asks you to accept before you continue. We record which version you accepted and when.

ReadOption is currently in early access (alpha): it is free, actively changing, and offered while we seek Sleeper’s written approval for commercial use (see Section 5).

2. Who Can Use ReadOption

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

The Service is directed to users in the United States. We make no claim that it is appropriate or available elsewhere.

By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the Sleeper username you connect is actually yours.

3. What ReadOption Is

ReadOption is a season-long fantasy football co-pilot. Its core idea is that better fantasy decisions come from understanding the people you play against. The Service:

• Builds behavioral profiles of the owners in your league ("League-Mate Intelligence") from public data available through Sleeper’s read-only API — several seasons of publicly visible league history such as draft picks, trades, waiver/FAAB bids, and roster moves. No one’s password or private account access is involved.
• Provides a draft co-pilot and other recommendations (draft picks, keeper analysis, and similar guidance), generated with the help of AI.
• Shows profiles only in context: a league’s profiles are visible only to members of that league who have imported it.
• Offers a public demo at /demo that uses an anonymized league — real historical patterns with fictional identities — so anyone can see how the Service works without signing in.

ReadOption is a research and entertainment tool for season-long fantasy football. It contains no gambling or wagering functionality, and it is not designed or offered as a tool for betting of any kind.

4. Recommendations Are Information, Not Guarantees

Everything the Service produces — profiles, tendencies, draft advice, keeper analysis, and any other output — is for informational and entertainment purposes only. It is our best analytical read of public data, produced in part by AI, and it can be wrong.

We do not guarantee any fantasy football outcome. Using ReadOption will not ensure you win your league, a matchup, or a trade. Fantasy results depend on things nobody controls — player performance, injuries, luck, and the choices of other owners. You are responsible for your own decisions. Do not treat our output as a promise, a prediction of fact, or professional advice of any kind.

5. Not Affiliated With Sleeper or the NFL

ReadOption is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Sleeper or the National Football League (NFL), nor any of their parents, teams, affiliates, or partners. "Sleeper," "NFL," and all other third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners; we reference them only to describe how the Service works.

The Service is built on Sleeper’s public API. We have deliberately stayed pre-commercial while we seek Sleeper’s written consent for commercial use. If Sleeper changes, restricts, or revokes API access, or objects to our use, the Service may change or become unavailable — possibly without notice. Your use of Sleeper itself is governed by Sleeper’s own terms.

6. Your Account

You sign in with Google (Google OAuth). It is the only sign-in method during early access — we never see or store a password. You also give us your Sleeper username so we can find your public leagues; we import a league only after confirming your linked Sleeper account is a member of it.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information, including a Sleeper username that is actually yours.
• Keep your Google account secure — it controls access to your ReadOption account.
• Tell us at support@readoption.football if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy).

7. Free During Early Access

ReadOption is currently free. There are no payments, subscriptions, paywalls, or in-app purchases, and we do not collect payment information.

We expect to introduce paid plans after commercial launch. If we do, we will update these Terms first, and nothing will be charged without clear, advance disclosure and your agreement. Free access during alpha is not a promise of free access forever.

8. Acceptable Use

Use the Service only for its intended purpose: your own fantasy football experience. You agree not to:

• Break the law or these Terms while using the Service.
• Access or try to access accounts, leagues, or data that aren’t yours, or misrepresent whose Sleeper account you are connecting.
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data, profiles, or recommendations, or access the Service by automated means (bots, scripts, crawlers) outside its intended in-browser use.
• Resell or redistribute the Service’s output, or use it to build a competing product or dataset.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service’s source code, models, or methodology, except where law forbids that restriction.
• Interfere with or overload the Service, or bypass its rate limits, security, or access controls.
• Use the Service — including any profile of a league-mate — to harass, defame, discriminate against, or harm anyone, or for any purpose beyond your own fantasy competition.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations (Section 12).

9. Profiles of Your League-Mates

Profiles are built only from data owners have already made public through Sleeper — their display name and their in-league activity. We do not collect real names, emails, or any other private details about people who haven’t signed up. The Privacy Policy explains this in full.

Profiles are automated estimates of playing style. They can be wrong, incomplete, or unflattering. They are analysis, not statements of fact about a person. If you correct a profile, that correction is private to you and changes only your own view. Never use a profile to harass anyone or to make real-world decisions about them.

League members who want to understand or object to how their public Sleeper activity is used can contact us at support@readoption.football.

10. Your Content

You can create content inside the Service — watchlists, profile corrections, keeper confirmations, and feedback on recommendations. You own it. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and use that content to operate and improve the Service. Corrections stay private to you and are never shown to other users; feedback may inform how we improve recommendations for everyone. We will not use your content to train AI models except with your explicit consent, as described in the Privacy Policy.

This license ends for content that is deleted when your account is deleted, except as needed for legal compliance or in anonymized, aggregated form that no longer identifies you.

11. Third-Party Data and Services

ReadOption depends on third parties, credited in-app at /credits:

• Sleeper — public league, draft, roster, and transaction data (read-only API).
• Fantasy Football Calculator — average draft position (ADP) baseline data.
• nflverse — public NFL player data.
• Google — sign-in.

Third-party data reaches us "as is." We do not control, verify, or guarantee it, and it may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. If a third party changes or discontinues its data or service, parts of ReadOption may change or stop working, and we are not liable for that. Your use of any third-party service is governed by its own terms.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service — its software, design, branding, profiling methodology, and generated content — belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial fantasy football use under these Terms. All other rights are reserved. Nothing here grants you rights in third-party marks or data, including "Sleeper" or "NFL."

13. An Alpha Product: Changes and Availability

ReadOption is early-stage and actively developed. You understand and agree that:

• The Service may contain bugs, errors, and incomplete features.
• We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time.
• The Service may be interrupted, unavailable, or discontinued at any time, with or without notice.
• Profiles and recommendations may be recomputed, reset, or deleted as the product evolves.

We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for violations of these Terms, risk to the Service or others, or if we change or wind down the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 5, 10–12, and 15–17) survive.

15. "As Is" — No Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that any profile or recommendation will be accurate or complete; that the Service will improve your fantasy results; or that third-party data will be accurate or available. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or fantasy football winnings, standings, or opportunities, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — even if we were advised such damages were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently $0 — the Service is free) or US $100. These limits apply regardless of legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

17. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless PG Three Industries LLC and its founders, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party — including your league-mates or Sleeper.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Each revision gets a new version date at the top of this document. For material changes, the app will present the new version and ask you to accept it before you continue using the Service; we may also provide additional notice where appropriate. If you don’t agree to an updated version, stop using the Service.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.

20. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
• Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• No waiver. Not enforcing a provision now doesn’t waive our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
